In 2005 a new kind of ministry was created. The Black Hills Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota has been billed as "the world's largest motorcycle rally." It has been estimated that over 300,000 people visit Sturgis during this time. The rally attracts people from all walks of life; from store owners and doctors as recreational riders to hard core outlaw bikers such as the well known Hells Angels.
For the last five years Baptists have been reaching out to the lost on a very personal level. Volunteers encourage complete strangers to give just three minutes of their day to listen to how God has worked in their lives. In exchange for their three minutes they are entered for a chance to win a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
This year 7, 317 people registered for a Harley-Davidson Wide Glide. 1, 147 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Immanuel Baptist Church is proud to be a part of this ministry. This year a team of five men traveled from Immanuel to participate. A webcam streamed a live feed over the internet accessable through the official website www.SturgisBikeGiveAway.com so anyone at anytime could see what was happening. On this page you will find some stills that were taken from the webcam. |
